How to Make a QR Code Menu for Your Restaurant (Free)
A QR code menu saves printing costs and lets diners browse on their own phone. Setting one up is simple and can be done for free.
Step 1: Put your menu online
Your QR code only points to a link, so the menu must live somewhere. Options include a page on your website, a PDF stored in cloud storage with a public link, or a simple menu page on a free site builder. A mobile-friendly web page is better than a large PDF because it loads faster and is easier to read.
Step 2: Generate the code
Paste the menu link into Loqo, add your restaurant logo, and pick colors that keep strong contrast. Download SVG for print.
Step 3: Design the table sign
- Add a clear call to action such as "Scan for our menu".
- Print the code at least 3 to 4 cm wide for table use; larger is better in dim restaurants. See size guidance.
- Use matte lamination to avoid glare and spills.
- Include the Wi-Fi code too, using our Wi-Fi QR guide.
Keeping it updatable
Because Loqo creates static codes, the destination is fixed. The smart approach is to link to a page you control, such as yourrestaurant.com/menu, and update the content of that page whenever prices or dishes change. The printed code never needs to be replaced.
Accessibility
Not every guest wants to use a phone. Keep a few printed menus available, and use readable font sizes on the linked page.
